I never thought it could happen to me!

No, I'm not talking about breast cancer, becoming adicted to inhalants, or choosing Coke over Pepsi in a blindfold test. I'm talking about being HACKED.

(cue: dramatic music)

Apparently, my Hotmail account (dhoepker) was hacked recently. The fuckers then broke into my Paypal account (it uses the same password--apparently a bad thing) and sent $34 to two different accounts. The Paypal situation is being handled, but I'm still waiting to hear back from Hotmail. Long story short, the hackers changed my Hotmail password so that I can not log back in. I went to the "change password" option, which you can access without actually logging in, and they also changed my security question. The new security question, of which I must answer correctly if I want to change my password: "I love you". That's the question, "I love you". At least the bastards have a sense of humor.

So, don't send anything to my dhoepker account if you expect me to read it anytime soon. And, may I suggest updating (or in my case, not allowing it to become expired in the first place) your McAfee service--or whatever you use for a virus scan/firewall. May I also suggest changing to a more secure e-mail service. Hotmail is apparently the worst as far as fending off evildoers, followed closely by Yahoo.

Don't let the Hackers get the best of you, too!
