Thought you might want to know that...

1) Work is kicking my ass right now. I just received my third manuscript of the fall batch that is totally unacceptable. If you're taking notes at home, that's 3 outta 7. One, I fixed; two, we booted to next year as it needs lots of work; with three, the jury is still out. It's a high profile book for us, so we can't afford a revenue hole. That said, I can't afford to go bananas trying to turn this book into a keeper in a month's time.

2) I just picked up this CD via Gemm.com: Vampires Stole My Lunch Money by Mick Farren (originally released in 1978). Ain't the cover art a blast?

3) M will be visiting her peeps this weekend, so if you're going to be in town and you feel like entertaining a bachelor, lemme know. If the weather holds, we should play some basketball, too.

4) I'm supposed to be editing Dennis Rodman's third book. How crazy is that? I betcha didn't even know he had a second one. It will be titled, I Should Be Dead Now. I'm taking an office pool on the number of times he drops the f-bomb in the manuscript.

5) I fully expected Star Wars III to suck, and it didn't let me down.

6) I have to finish my interview questions for Dead Meadow this weekend. I just received my questions back from Black Mountain, who, to no surprise, are stoners who have more in common with hippies than, say, Phish. I particularly found this response from singer-songwriter Stehpen McBean to be of interest: "I sold all my post-1980’s records (minus anything Wu related) about 5 years ago and I’ve been much happier ever since. Yesterday could’ve been a hundred years ago." Sorta gives you the impression that he could be the Steve Buscemi character from Ghost World. That is, until you realize that he's not ugly and smokes a lot of dope. At any rate, the interview was as entertaining as an e-mail exchange can be. They obviously have a sense of humor and don't mind flaunting it to unsuspecting journalists.

N/P - The new Smog record, which so far does not sound much like the old Smog record.
